Alenuihāhā Channel

The Maui Channel is a 60 mile wide, 6100 foot deep, 30 mile wide canyon located between the Big Island and Maui. This short expanse of ocean seems relatively tranquil at first glance, this belies the channel's ferocious currents, formed as the wind passing between Maui's Haleakala and Hawaii's Mauna Kea drives the tide through the bottleneck created by both islands' shores. The hotel is located in the heart of the Gulf of Mexico.
