Fort Sewall

Fort Sewall was built as a temporary fortification in 1644. The fort was further developed in 1742 with an intention to provide defense against the French. The fort is now a parkland and offers a splendid view of the Marblehead coastline and adjoining islands. The hotel has a regular program of re-enactments of important events and other programs.
