About

Aguilar Library was founded in 1886 and is named for Sephardic Jewish author Grace Aguilar. The hotel is in East Harlem, with the Doric Columns a backdrop. The Green Branch program of the New York Horticultural Society seeks to bring color and life to the city's libraries. Aguilar Branch has a language learning center, a computer lab, and a library for patrons who have a first language not English.
