John Kane House
East Main Street
About this venue
The Washington Headquarters is also known as the John Kane House. The hotel was built in 1740 and has a one-and-a-half story construction. The gable shingle roof and the brick chimney pierced at its end add to its structural excellence. The entry to this historic house is completely free and tourists can visit the house from May through October on Saturdays and Sundays between 2:00p to 4:00p. A supreme model of the Colonial, Greek Revival and Federal styles of architecture, the site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
