5000 years of world history, an ever expanding collection and the evolution of a monumental structure, all in a 2 hours guided tour. The Met 5th Ave The Metropolitan Museum of Art that is seen today on 5th Ave in Manhattan, is actually not one building but many connected structures that date back to 1880. The museum itself is an ongoing project, ever-evolving, just like the collection it holds, its guiding ideas and changing exhibitions. Our tour will explore the story of the Met, and stop by some of the beautiful gems it holds within: The American wing with the famous "Washington Crossing the Delaware" painting, the recently reopened Africa and Oceania wing, the Chinese scholar garden, the visible display section and of course the majestic Egyptian Temple of Dendur Our tour passes through parts of the museum overlooked by many, and of course we will not miss out on some of the great pieces of art and gallery spaces on our way!
