It is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, known for its narrow streets, traditional architecture, and vibrant multicultural community. It was once home to Lisbon's Moorish population during the Middle Ages. Over time, the neighborhood became a melting pot of cultures, with people from all over the world settling there.
