About this venue
A short 17 miles northwest of Jackson, visitors find one of nature's most stunning peculiarities. Petrified Forest is a National Natural Landmark in 1966. It is located in the Petrifying Forest and is accessed by a 1.5-mile walking trail. Along the way, trail guides tell how this phenomenon came into existence. The museum has a variety of educational material.
