About this tour

This tour explores the highlights of the Peloponnese, from ancient wonders to modern marvels. We'll visit Mycenae, one of Greece’s first great kingdoms, dating back to the second millennium BC. According to Homer, it was home to Agamemnon, leader of the Greeks in the Trojan War. You’ll see the iconic Lion Gate, the entrance to the royal palace. Next, we head to Epidaurus to admire its 4th-century BC theatre, renowned for its incredible acoustics, where even a whisper on stage can be heard perfectly throughout the audience. In Nafplio, we explore Palamidi Castle, a Venetian fortress famous for its 999 steps. Our journey continues to Nemea, an ancient wine region. Here, we learn about Agiorgitiko, a 3,000-year-old grape variety, and taste wines ranging from light and fruity to bold and mature. Finally, we’ll visit the Corinth Canal, a modern engineering feat connecting the Aegean and Ionian Seas.
