Shortly after forming in Portland, OR in 2010, Unknown Mortal Orchestra quickly became known amongst the indie music elite. Creating rough-hewn pop music, with defined choruses and scuzzy guitar licks, Unknown Mortal Orchestra has managed to rise above the myriad of other garage rock bands out there by creating memorable songs bolstered by illegitimate instrumental accompaniments. The band's self-titled debut LP came out in 2011 and was well received by critics as well as the indie rock listening public.
