Illphonics

Due to a late-1990s musical genre which shall remain nameless, the mixture of hip-hop and hard rock has earned a bad name, which isn't exactly fair because there are a lot of really interesting bands expertly blending rap and rock in a way that's vibrant and exciting. Take, for example, the Illphonics. The St. Louis quintet came together at Webster University and have quickly become one of the hottest acts in the city with their soulful blend of classic rock, funk and hip hop. Led by frontman/MC Larry "Fallout" Morris, the band has shared the stage with massive acts like The Roots, Lupe Fiasco and The Presidents of the United States of America.
