Pamela Des Barres is an American magazine writer and author who gained a reputation as one of the most prominent and brutally honest rock and roll groupies throughout the 1960s and 1970s. In her books, articles and spoken word performances, Des Barres holds little to no details out of tales of her sexual exploits with the likes of Mick Jagger, Billy Idol, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Page and Keith Moon. As part of an odd performance art project spearheaded by Frank Zappa in the late 1960s, Des Barres was briefly a part of the GTOs, a "groupie group" that combined rudimentary music and spoken word performances. The band dissolved shortly after its inception and Des Barres has since remained on the fringe of rock and roll lore with book readings and articles chronicling her now famed romps with some of the era's biggest names.
