Brooklyn-based, Brazilian-born Zuzuka Poderosa is an MC and vocalist who uses the sounds of Brazil's Funk Carioca (Baile Funk in Portuguese)--a style that emerged in the 1990s as a direct inspiration from Miami bass and electro. Zuzuka also draws on Brooklyn's rich club music community, using the tropical bass sounds of electro-house, dancehall, cumbia, and kuduro to make her sound truly international. With aspirations for a proper release, Zuzuka brings much of her musical energy to the stage, a direct result of the high-energy live performances that Baile Funk shows bring in Rio.
