While the guys in the Charlie Shafter Band don't take themselves too seriously, they consistently approach their music with serious craft. Originally hailing from Illinois but now based in Denton, Texas, Shafter's warm, soulful voice is the center of the band's straightforward yet heartfelt sound. Even though he usually plays as a part of a four-piece band, Shafter's music is equally effective in a traditional, stripped-down singer/songwriter format.
