Jamie xx, born Jamie Smith, is an English musician and electronic producer who's best known as a member of the London-based indie pop group, The xx. In his solo endeavors, he creates forward-thinking bass music that's a clear response to the wonky dubstep movement that has engulfed both the UK and the US. With off-beat time signatures, strange pace changes and manipulated vocals, Jamie's music is not created to be danced to necessarily, but the bass music is intellectually deep and worthy of the heaps of accolades that has been placed on it by prominent music publications.
