Minneapolis, Minnesota-based trio Alpha Consumer is essentially a Twin Cities supergroup--members of the band have played with a litany of major local acts like Andrew Bird, Fog, Dosh, Fat Kid Wednesdays, Happy Apple and the James Buckley Trio. However, its with Alpha Consumer that the members of the band really come into their own. Alpha Consumer's balls-to-the-wall, fuzzed-out sound is paired a wryly satirical lyricism that consistently has the foibles and hypocrisies of American culture squarely in its sights.
