About
This rich Italian-language adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's classic maintains the epic scope of his original German-language parable about Nazism and racial violence. Written in 1936, Brecht transposed the current horrors within the international community to a fictional country named Yahoo, in which order is maintained by a government-encouraged hostility between people with round heads and those with pointed heads. Brecht's revolutionary ideas about theater as a vehicle for political movement and social contemplation are reflected in this "alienating" work. Brecht's theories have since been dissected, expanded upon and criticized, but they have nonetheless become integrally important ideas within the framework of the modern theater.
