New York-based singer/songwriter Tracy Bonham has carved a special niche in the modern folk world, going from commercial success to independent self-sustainability with relative ease. Bonham was nominated for Grammy Awards in the late 1990s for Best Female Vocalist and Best Alternative Music Performance, but since then Bonham has moved out of Los Angeles' commercial competition and into a quiet Brooklyn neighborhood, where she now releases on smaller imprints and performs in more intimate settings.
