Puro Instinct

Originally operating under the name Pearl Harbor, sisters Piper and Skylar Kaplan changed their band's moniker to Puro Instinct in 2010. The change had no effect on the groups sound, however, as both projects create super lo-fi indie pop tunes akin to Ariel Pink, who blew up in 2010 with a very similar style. Puro Instinct's songs are engulfed in tinny reverb and combine vaguely surf-inspired guitar styles with the sisters' ethereal vocals. The band's debut album, Headbangers In Ecstasy, was released in 2011 and includes a collaboration with the aforementioned Ariel Pink.
