While New Jersey rapper Kosher Dillz foregrounds his Jewish heritage, there's a long history of Judaism and hip hop coming together, quite successfully in fact (see: The Beastie Boys, Matisyahu, Drake, Edan, Justin Warfield, etc). This isn't to imply that Kosher Dillz, born Rami Even Esh, treats his rapping as a novelty act. His dense, wordy flow is a conduit for insights both serious and silly, personal and political, slick and emotional.
