Barcelona-based soul singer Monica Green is a regular performer at the city's nightclubs, but sounds as though she was born and bred in the American Detroit soul scene. While this isn't far from the truth - Green grew up in New York to a family of soul and jazz musicians - the songstress relocated to Spain in 1987 after falling in love with the culture while on tour there. Still belting out American soul ballads in her native tongue, Green has become a mainstay in Barcelona nightlife.
