Formerly calling itself Takota, the Orange County five-piece Beta Wolf changed its name, relocated to Los Angeles and altered its sound accordingly in 2009. While its former group produced a post hardcore sound - one that landed it on the prominent Atreyu's World Championship Tour - the band's new incarnation turns to the alternative rock genre, with grungier vocals and guitars that present the songs as more radio-friendly. Beta Wolf was able to retain most of its fans with its shift and is still notorious as a band with a loud, aggressive live show.
