Austin emcee ZEALE rApZ, who also goes by Zeale 32 or just Zeale, first attracted prestige when he won Ohio's ScribbleJam in 2006--the rap competition that made Eminem famous. While his style is considerably different from Eminem, it is fairly unorthodox for the hip-hop genre; Zeale samples indie rock songs, adds an electropop synthline and raps over it. Catchy and full of pop culture references, the emcee's music has a solid fan base in his native Austin and has earned the respect of many prominent rappers across the country, many of whom have asked Zeale to contribute to mixtapes.
