Young Prisms

Evidently a product of its environment, Young Prisms fits into San Francisco's favorite niche: lo-fi, reverb-drenched garage pop. The five-piece formed in 2009 and prides itself on thickly layering distorted vocals - about fairly banal topics - over dense, surf-inspired guitar licks. While there might be a plethora of bands creating music almost indistinguishable from Young Prisms, the band doesn't have any difficulty filling up venues with ardent fans of its characteristic sound.
