Wires Under Tension is made up of the South Bronx duo of multi-instrumentalist Christopher Tignor and drummer Theo Metz. Leaning heavily on Tignor's classical training, the band makes instrumental, heavily looped post-rock that largely defies post-rock conventions. Taking keyboards, violins and synths and running them though a series of computer programs they wrote themselves, the group creates dynamically propulsive soundscapes that sound like a classical symphony crashing through a computer and somehow becoming a hip-hop group in the process.
