About
Formed by a group of employees at Seattle's prominent Sub Pop record label and fronted by Dean Whitmore of Intelligence and Welcome, Unnatural Helpers existed in one form or another since 2005. After years of sporting a rotating cast of musicians, the four-piece stabilized in 2010 and released its debut album Cracked Love & Other Drugs, on the Hardly Art label, a Sub Pop offshoot. With its grungy garage rock sound that flirts with experimental noise, Unnatural Helpers dropped its 2012 album Land Grab, and won acclaim from musicians, critics and fans alike.
