Austin, TX-based trio Ume blends gritty guitar riffs and feminine vocals with pop hooks to create a unique style of modern alternative rock. Upon forming in 2002, the band was forced to collaborate long distance while front woman Lauren Larson pursued a degree in Pennsylvania. After graduating, however, Larson moved to Texas and the band secured a record deal, a devoted audience and a solid reputation for its live performances.
