Typhoon is an indie pop group from Portland, Oregon that explores the physical and emotional aspects of life that are often foreign subjects in the world of music. The band, which is often comprised of at least 10 people, mixes multiple instruments and performance styles to create an interestingly intellectual, classically-influenced brand of pop that is often attempted, but rarely to much success. However, the lyrical content of Typhoon's music is just as intellectually strong as its music, with the band's acclaimed album Hunger & Thirst investigating, and often confusing the differences between physical and ontological sicknesses.
