Twin Atlantic is an alternative rock act from Glasgow that was formed in 2007 by a collection of musicians from various local bands. Before releasing its debut album Vivarium, in 2009, Twin Atlantic had already been chosen to open for artists such as Biffy Clyro, Blink 182 and Smashing Pumpkins, who gave the band the exposure needed to build anticipation for its first record. In support of the album, the band began touring the UK, Ireland and eventually the US, making stops at various music festivals and collecting an international audience along the way. Twin Atlantic dropped its follow-up record Free, in 2012.
