These Wonderful Evils is a psychedelic garage rock project from Chicago, Illinois created and led by guitarist Zak Boerger who has been rather successful at keeping his work inconspicuous. With an apparent ambition for obscurity, Boerger's project attempts to intelligently combine the best elements of lo-fi psych garage with folk and other minimalistic styles. Since the release of the band's debut album Regine Flory in 2008, These Wonderful Evils has met with positive, albeit apprehensive reviews regarding the project's interest in creating music with a particularly abstruse, isolated ambiance that leaves many of its listeners transfixed as well as perplexed.
