After meeting in high school in San Diego, Alex Weiss and Marisa Kreiss became disturbingly inseparable, sharing everything from their cell phone to their boyfriend, and wearing matching clothes on a daily basis. The two "twins," as they refer to themselves, moved to New York after graduating and decided to form a band, fittingly calling it The Shining Twins. Sharing songwriting and vocal duties, the duo crossbreeds riot grrrl punk with bubblegum pop, and has built up a following charmed by the two girls' snotty--but not too snotty--music.
