The Novocaines

Based out of Perth, Australia, The Novocaines had a fairly tumultuous rise to prominence. After being dubbed Perth's best up-and-coming bands and allegedly receiving an offer from Ben Kweller to produce its debut album, The Novocaines' drummer left the band for another Perth band, Tame Impala, which went on to gain indie prominence throughout Australia and abroad. Drummer-less, The Novocaines disbanded, but rejoined with a new drummer shortly thereafter and released a hit single that garnered national radio play. Reignited, the band continued to spread its brand of straightforward garage rock with subtle nods to punk and psych.
