Formed in 2005, The Lonely Forest is an up-and-coming folk-tinged indie rock project from Anacortes, Washington. The band's debut LP, Nuclear Winter--a 15 track concept album about escaping the apocalypse via space travel--was a bold opening statement and helped introduce the music community to its emotive pop and introspective rock styles. Though the band's members are relatively young, they convey a rather believable world-weary fragility in their songs that fans of heart-on-sleeve testimonials will appreciate. In 2010, the band signed to Trans Records, an imprint run by talented Death Cab For Cutie guitarist, Chris Walla.
