The Lemurs

By combining various elements of alternative rock and punk with pop-friendly song arrangements, Austin, Texas-based group The Lemurs has managed to do something that few groups can ever hope to do: create affable power pop tunes that are easy to listen to and difficult to criticize. The band released its self-titled debut LP in 2006 and the album helped establish the group as an interesting fixture of the multifaceted Austin music scene. Though The Lemurs hasn't experienced massive mainstream success, the group's modest following has enabled the band to continue releasing ear-catching studio material and maintain a fairly respectable touring schedule.
