The Hong Kong Blood Opera

It's probably safe to say there aren't a lot of bands that sound like Hong Kong Blood Opera in their hometown of Hermosillo, Mexico. Named after a particularly violent genre of '80s action films, the quintet inventively mixes hardcore punk and bouncy synth pop in a way not too dissimilar to late-period Blood Brothers, but with a far greater emphasis on keeping a consistent dance groove running though each one of their songs. Formed in 2006, the band relocated to Mexico City and released their first full length album in 2010.
