Austin-based band Speak is one of the rock and roll city's breakout indie successes, combining many of the folk and rock styles typical of that region with more updated electronic elements. Decidedly pop in nature, Speak write high-energy, unabashedly romantic music ready for American pop charts. The group made a significant impact at their hometown's SXSW Festival in 2012, and with a strong debut album, it's likely the band will reach an American audience hungry for sing-a-long, danceable pop.
