The Texas-based folk pop duo Smile Smile might come across as an overtly chipper group that makes a faux style of music simply to attract fans, but the joyous themes in the band's music isn't contrived--it's genuine. With a style that could be described as "dainty," Smile Smile emerged from the depths of Dallas, Texas in 2005 and has since managed to impress followers of the modern folk scene with delicately arranged songs about love and, um, more love. Smile Smile is comprised of singing/songwriting duo Ryan Hamilton and Jancey Hirunrusme, whose duets on several tracks give listeners a sense of two lovers communicating through song and instrumental arrangements.
