The four-piece that is the Slang Chickens came together in 2008, and have gained their fair share of notoriety around their hometown of Los Angeles, California. Slang Chickens has toured throughout the United States with other such up and coming acts like Sleepy Sun, Crystal Antlers, Surfer Blood, and even the late Jay Reatard. The band's sound is a weird mish-mash of electric and acoustic guitars, a banjo, and even a lap-steel guitar, which altogether, makes for interesting country/folk-pop tunes.
