Comprised of members from both London and Texas, the experimental drone act Shit and Shine makes music that might make a regular person feel a bit uncomfortable. But most people who listen to good, eclectic music are not regular; so let the people who listen to mainstream top-40 radio stuff go do their own thing, while the other, true connoisseurs of music listen to groups like Shit and Shine. The band released its debut album, You're Lucky to Have Friends Like Us, in 2004 and with a sound that blends electronically lurching beats with sporadically sampled vocals and drone-filled soundscapes, Shit and Shine has managed to intrigue listeners who are looking for avant-garde independent music.
