Formerly known as Say Hi to Your Mom, Seattle-based musician Eric Elbogen's one-man project now simply goes by the shorter moniker of Say Hi. Since its start in the early-2000s, Elbogen has maintained complete control over Say Hi albums, recording them on his own at home while singing and playing all the instruments in each song. His style is very much in line with the characteristics of modern indie rock and pop trends. Elbogen's versatile vocals are a strong-suit in Say Hi's music. He possesses a voice that shakes with both conviction and occasional wavering emotion that can be likened to that of Connor Oberst of Bright Eyes. Fans of catchy, not too overly serious indie rock should find a lot to enjoy in Say Hi's catalog.
