Sauti Sol is a band based out of Kenya that manages to encapsulate the multifaceted modern music scene that exists in the African country. Formed in 2009, Sauti Sol pulls heavily from classic African music styles and also from modern production aesthetics to create an original style of music that proves to be more rewarding upon each consecutive listen. The group's debut LP, Mwanzo, was released in 2009 and went on to become the highest-selling Kenyan album of that year.
