As composing music with various computer programs and characteristically electronic elements becomes more widespread, more musicians are starting to take it upon themselves to write stereotypical singer/songwriter material that fits into the confines of different electronic music genres. Irish musician Darragh Nolan is one of these individuals who would probably be writing songs with a guitar had the synthesizer and computer not been invented. Laconically-textured electronic soundscapes comprise the majority of Nolan's instrumentals, and with the Irishman's lilting vocals thrown on top, Sacred Animals manages to be a raise-worthy musical endeavor that's a clear reflection of the incredible advances in music technology over the past few decades. Nolan released Sacred Animals' debut EP in 2010 and the dream pop meets chamber pop meets ambient electro sounds of the album are deserving of repeated listens.
