About

American country rock band Pure Prairie League, formed in 1965 in Columbus, OH, originally consisted of Craig Fuller, Tom McGrail, Jim Caughlan and John David Call. The band initially played at local haunts around Cincinnati, before landing a record deal with RCA Records. By then it had gone through some changes in its lineup, with McGrail being replaced by Jim Caughlan and John David Call joining the band. The band set about working on its debut album, released in early 1972. It failed to sell well and the band split as a result. The remaining members - Fuller and Powell - brought Hinds on board, who also recruited Michael Connor to play on the next album Bustin' Out. Despite failing to do well, the album soon gained cult status and is now considered a landmark in the genre. Throughout its career, the band has faced many upheavals but in spite of it all, it has continued to entertain its listeners with tunes like "Amie," "Let Me Love You Tonight," "Falling in and out of Love," "Two Lane Highway" and more.
