Puffyshoes is a garage rock band based in Tokyo. Comprised of just two members, Neko Meows (drums) and Usagi Hops (guitar), Puffyshoes creates scuzzy, no-fi songs that intentionally sound like they were recorded in a trash can. Even though there is some semblance of structure (albeit very basic structure) in the band's songs, it is entirely drowned out by what some might consider excessively shrill production values. Meows and Hops add to the bratty-ness of the material by simultaneously yelping out the brash lyrics and minimal melodies. Puffyshoes' music is bound to illicit love it or hate it reactions from listeners that will hinge on the desire or disinterest to tag along with the duo's shtick.
