Pernett

About

Pernett is an electronics-tinged rock musician based out of Cali, Columbia. He began his career around 18 years of age, when he moved to Bogota, Columbia's capital city, to study music at the university there. From the beginning, Pernett's intent was to blend traditional Colombian music with modern rock and electronic influences, particularly dub and reggeaton. He considers himself a die-hard independent musician, choosing to promote his work via free downloads, aggressive social networking and constant touring, the latter of which has caught the attention of many Colombian concert-goers due to the elaborate video shows Pernett creates and syncs up with his live show. His music is a reminder that traditional music and dance, such as rumba and cumbia, is still ingrained in Colombia, even if it's now being presented in a new context.
