Following the trend of many long-lasting county music families, Paula Nelson is attempting to carve out a niche for herself in the modern music scene. Paula is the daughter of outlaw country pioneer, Willie, whose steady career has cemented him in the upper echelon of the genre. Her approach is a little less traditional than her father's, however, as Paula welcomes rock influences to mingle with the twang of her vocals, resulting in a sound most typically referred to as alternative country. She performs both solo and with her live band, the Paula Nelson Band, which she's also utilized in the studio on albums such as, Coming Home and Lucky 13.
