NewVillager is an indie pop duo based in California and New York that describes its peculiar musical style as "new pop." Heavily based in the duo's own personal mythologies, the two men that make up NewVillager hope that their spiritual "hero's journey" towards the creation of pop music causes a stir in the psyches of their listeners, and so far, critics feel that they are on the right track. Since the release of the duo's debut single and subsequent music video, "Rich Doors," many feel that NewVillager might be on its way to becoming the next pop music messiah.
