Nerdkween is the self-styled sobriquet of indie pop singer/songwriter Monika Arrington from Atlanta, Georgia whose unique brand of "post-modern pop" is comprised of lo-fi/minimalistic production values and a one of a kind vocal range that serves to add spice to songs that would, in the hands of the wrong artist, run the risk of coming across as bland and uninteresting. Belonging to the rather sparse group of African-American musicians working in experimental pop, Nerdkween brings something decidedly new to a genre often dominated by white people.
