About
Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is simply a legacy of marvelous music created by some of the most talented classical artists. The orchestra was formed in Milwaukee, in 1949 as Milwaukee Pops Orchestra and in 1959, it changed it to its current name. With Harry John Brown as its first director, the orchestra left behind its semi-professional tag and started performing music full time. The evolution of the orchestra over the years has been phenomenal. Every director who has helmed the orchestra has made sure that it soars to new heights and the band members have shown the same dedication. This is why it has been the choice of band for many American and international composers for the premier shows of their creations.
