Mothers of Gut

Los Angeles band Mothers of Gut is indeed a band, though they explore wide-range of possibility in both instrumentation and sound. The group's lead songwriter Aaron Freeman got his start making a lot of ambient noise and minimalist experimental music, but was relieved to discover a band willing to mine these and other musical realms. Mothers of Gut also engage with a lot of middle eastern and southeast asian sounds, particularly for their atonal quality. Krautrock is another major influence on the group's work, and possibly most noticeable one, placing them in yet another part of the world's musical regions.
