Morning Teleportation

Portland-based Morning Teleportation is a band that got its start in the heartland of Kentucky, where three of the four members grew up and began the musical project. Now residing in Portland, the group was tapped by Modest Mouse genius Isaac Brock to produce the band's debut album, Expanding Anyway, released in March of 2011. The group's sound can be characterized by many of folk rock's crucial musical elements, however, the group takes it to the far reaches by using analog synths, electric instruments and screaming saxophone. Morning Teleportation's sound is nothing short of zany and eccentric, putting the psychedelic into psychedelic rock. Yet, even when the group's unhinged interludes seem like they will fall off the map, it brings everything back to extremely tight, even pop-level heights.
